What They Asked For

Liverpool FC appointed ACS Coatings to refurbish the existing fascia panels and structural columns of their club shop. The brief required all elements to be refinished to specified RAL colours, creating a cohesive appearance that aligned with the club’s wider refurbishment programme.

And beyond aesthetics, the finishes needed to withstand the demands of a high-traffic public environment while maintaining colour accuracy and durability over time.

What We Did

Our team carried out a complete refurbishment of the shop exterior. Initially, we sanded and fully prepared all existing fascia panels and columns, removing previous coatings and creating an ideal surface for the new system.

Following this preparation, we re-sprayed all of the elements to the required RAL colour specifications using a high-performance two-pack coating system. This guaranteed a consistent, high-quality finish across the entire shop exterior while providing the long-term protection required.

Throughout the process, our team maintained strict attention to colour matching and finish quality, too. As such, every panel and column received the same meticulous treatment to guarantee uniformity across the installation.

How We Did It

To minimise disruption, all works were carried out exclusively out of hours. This meant coordinating carefully around the shop’s opening times and planning each phase.

Safe working methods were also essential, given the public nature of the site. So, we implemented controlled access, established clear working zones, and maintained constant awareness of pedestrian movement. These measures protected both visitors and operatives throughout the job.

The coating system itself was also carefully selected for the application. We used a durable two-pack (2K) system specifically designed for long-term performance in demanding environments. This type of coating offers superior resistance to weathering, UV exposure, and physical wear compared to standard finishes.

Additionally, the team worked methodically through each stage, as they always do. Surface preparation was completed first, followed by primer application where needed, then the final coating layers. And between each stage, we inspected all surfaces to verify quality before progressing.

This highly systematic approach eliminated the risk of defects and maintained the tight programme schedule.

The Result

Upon completion, the club shop exterior was fully refreshed with a sharp, branded finish that met Liverpool Football Club’s exact specifications. The new coatings now provide enhanced durability and long-term protection, reducing future maintenance requirements while keeping the shop pristine.

The out-of-hours delivery also meant zero disruption to shop operations or visitor experience. The club, therefore, received a transformed exterior without any impact on trading or matchday activities. Liverpool FC also provided excellent feedback on both the quality of the finish and the professional management of the works.
