Think Park

This is an excellent example of our work, having been awarded the contract to repair and re-spray damaged metalwork. This project was completed over several months, working alongside Think Park – Trafford Park to keep costs and disruption down as much as possible.

We have the perfect paint-spraying solution for you! Everything from window frames and sills to doors, cladding, screens and curtain walling. We have a range of options available depending on your specific needs. Whether it is damage repair or complete re-sprays, we can help you. We can also offer you variations, such as our UV-resistant range of paint finishes that last ten years longer than those on the market today.

We rectified various types of work efficiently and with minimal disruption to the other trades. We had trouble matching the metalwork colour going off standard RAL & BS colour codes supplied by the client, so we sent a sample away to get tested by our suppliers, which came back a perfect match. We can always match a problematic colour. All we need is a notice to send the sample away for testing.

IPAF operatives also used cherry pickers to reach the underhang of the building to repair dents and re-spray.

MediaCityUK

MediaCityUK

Architectural Coating Solutions partnered with media city on these louvres at Booths, Media City. The condition of these louvres had deteriorated with time and had become considerably rusty and damaged. The client wanted these to look new again without disrupting the busy street beside it.

Firstly we cordoned off each section at a time we were working on. That way, we could keep our operation to a minimum and keep the public safe by not creating diversions onto the street.

We proceeded to sand back all the metalwork with heavy grit paper whilst grinding out any imperfections along the way. After rubbing the rusty areas, we applied a coating manufactured to stop rust prevention.

Our client wanted the best possible durability; we were advised by our specialist paint technician on what would be most suitable for the job. We applied industrial, marine grade primer, followed by a 3-part system topcoat.

We used cherry pickers and a scaffold for access, and the job took approximately five weeks total.

Aspinall House

Aspinall House

Aspinall House, situated in Bolton, was being refurbished into new offices, and our client did not want to replace the main entrance, as it was the same as its neighbouring buildings. Over time, the gold pearlescent colour faded severely on the door, causing the building to look old and unappealing.

We started by masking off the surrounding door entrance and frames to protect them from overspray. Next, we had to remove all signage and abrade the facade panel. When spraying pearlescent paint, you have to be perfect with technique. Otherwise, it could lead to dry patches and uneven spray patterns. After the pearlescent paint was applied, we returned later to put the brown lines back in the panel to match the existing board.

The client was delighted, leading to more work over the country.

Ravenstone House

Ravenstone House

We proceeded to carry out numerous spraying works on Ravenstone House, Sale. Formally an office block, this building was being refurbished into luxury apartments. Our client wanted the colour from blue to RAL 7016 grey to give the flats a modern feel.

With the existing doors, windows, balconies etc. being damaged, we first had to fill and rub to give the new paint something to grip.

From there, we masked out all windows and brickwork to ensure there would be no overspray. As you can see from the photos, the finish came out smooth and constructed this building stands out for its rebranding.

Manchester Apartments

Manchester Apartments

Our team started work early on a busy morning on Oxford street, Manchester.

Over time the metalwork had deteriorated, and bubbling and rust had occurred all over the shop front. The client wanted the same colour but the shop to have a “brand new look” image again. It also had lots of excessive drill holes and indentations that needed rectifying.

We spent the first day scouring the metalwork to eliminate the rust and bubbling. We also filled unneeded drill holes and dents around the frame. After this, the windows and surrounding areas had to be masked off to stop overspray from occurring. We treated and primed all exposed metalwork areas to ensure the finish would last.

Day 2 consisted of checking over the shop front with the client to ensure he was happy with everything.

Bank Chambers

Bank Chambers

Architectural Coating Solutions worked closely with See Brilliance to restore the exterior of Bank Chambers, Manchester. With See Brilliance restoring the stone and ACS repairing and re-spraying the curtain walling.

Numerous samples were carried out before commencing any work so that the client had the opportunity to see what the building could potentially look like. They opted to go with matte black to match the neighbouring building.

The work had to be carried out on cradles, making it difficult to mask and abrade specific areas that needed an angel wing attachment. Over so many years, the metalwork had become faded and made the building age over time.

As you can see from the pictures, it looks like a completely new building and gives the appearance a fresher and more modern feel to it.

Footasylum

Footasylum

Footasylum asked for help to prepare for a re-brand with a new store that was currently all white. We had a fast turn-around with this store, all of which had to be completed within 1 week.

Using the latest airless spray technology to apply a specialist blackout paint to the metal pan ceiling tiles, this paint is a one-coat system that does not require a primer. This makes for faster completion time and is a lot more cost-effective compared to other products on the market.

Respraying the ceiling out of hours due to other work commencing within the store gave flexibility for the client and kept disruption to a minimum.

We then proceeded to apply Tikkurila Optiva 5 via airless spray to all walls.

Customer Requirements

This job was to apply a fire protection coating to a grade 2 listed building staircase, which has been reformed into gorgeous city centre apartments. Our client requested this job also for a refurbishment and to restore the existing staircase.

We prepared the surface by removing the existing paint that did not offer fire protection; this required a lot of sanding and removing layers of paint! When it came to the balustrades that appeared tricky to the eye, our skilled team could adapt to this and remove what was required.

The fire treatment applied soaks virtually ‘invisibly’ into woods and timber. Achieving Euroclass B Fire Propagation and spread of flame fire protection on solid timbers. This fire treatment can also be over-coated for decorative purposes whilst offering fire protection. The fire retardant treatment remains effective for the lifetime of the substrate, reassuring our client that health and safety are adhered to.

It is highly recommended that a fireproof coating gets applied to any timber stairs to reduce the risk of accidental fire. The client was pleased with the work and invited us back to carry out flooring and other external elements, which are yet to be finalised.
